This NR-HA Focus paper addresses proposals in late-2025 ad early 2026 to re-purpose decommissioned U.S. Navy nuclear reactors to meet the immense electricity demands of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. Key developments and articles regarding this initiative include HGP Intelligent Energy efforts to use reactor plants for USS Nimitz after it is decommissioned.

The focus paper includes as attachments two recent articles and links to others. The paper also includes a copy of an HGP-submitted Document for the Record for the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy on January 7, 2026.
