Terms and Conditions Effective Date: 3 April 2025 Welcome to the Naval Reactors Historical Association's website at nr-ha.org. By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or services. 1. About Naval Reactors Historical Association Naval Reactors Historical Association (NR-HA NON-PROFIT) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization founded in 2023. We are a Virginia Non-Stock Corporation (Virginia ID: 11677136) with Federal EIN 99-2264570. Our mission is to preserve and promote the history of the Naval Reactors program, connect past and present professionals, and educate the public on its contributions to national security. NR-HA supports the U.S. military, its veterans, as well as past and present federal employees that worked at Naval Reactors; however, it is not officially connected to or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Defense, or any of their branches or departments including Naval Reactors. 2. Use of Website This website is provided for general informational and community-building purposes related to Naval Reactors alumni. You agree to use the site in accordance with all applicable laws and not for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose. 3. Membership Accounts We offer two types of user accounts: General Members: Basic access to our site and limited features. Verified Alumni: Granted access to a private alumni directory after successful verification. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. 4. Information Accessible Only to Verified Alumni Members The alumni directory is intended solely for personal, non-commercial networking among verified Naval Reactors alumni. Use of directory information for marketing, solicitation, or commercial purposes is strictly prohibited. Other databases and files that are marked a “VERIFIED ALUMNI ONLY” or accessed via the NRHQ ALUMNI & ACTIVE ONLY tab (or conceptually equivalent identification) are intended solely for personal, non-commercial networking among verified Naval Reactors alumni. Use of this information for marketing, solicitation, or commercial purposes is strictly prohibited. 5. Intellectual Property All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of Naval Reactors Historical Association or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or display content without prior written permission. We make no claim of ownership over any documents, images, or other materials made available on this website unless explicitly stated otherwise. These materials are shared strictly for informational, educational, or historical purposes and are not provided for any commercial use. If you are the copyright holder or authorized representative of any content shared on this site and believe it should not be displayed, you may request its removal by contacting us at support@nr-ha.org. Defense-Related Technical Content: In accordance with our agreement with the Defense Office of Prepublication and Security Review, all defense-related technical narratives on this site are sourced exclusively from unlimited distribution government sources or publications. Publishing unclassified DOD technical material from non-government sources is not permitted unless it is also available from an official government site or source. This policy is designed to comply with Non-Disclosure Agreements and avoid the need for prepublication security review. Commonly used, approved sources include: Duncan - Rickover and the Nuclear Navy Hewlett and Duncan - Nuclear Navy 1946–1962 Publicly released NR reports and handbooks Congressional testimony Questions regarding the origin or status of technical information on this site should be directed to info@nr-ha.org. 9. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, Naval Reactors Historical Association is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the website or from any content posted on or accessed through the site. 10. Privacy Policy Effective Date: 3 April 2024 At Naval Reactors Historical Association (“we,” “our,” or “us”), we are committed to protecting your privacy. Non-Personally Identifiable Information (Non-PII): Our alumni database contains non-sensitive information about Naval Reactors alumni, including: Names Service history (e.g., years served, billets) Educational background (e.g., degrees, institutions) We offer two levels of user accounts: General Members: These users register through our standard Wix site registration. We collect limited PII, such as name and email address, solely for account creation, communication, and site personalization. Verified Alumni: These users complete standard registration and undergo an additional verification process to confirm Naval Reactors affiliation. Verified Alumni are granted access to a private alumni database that includes non-PII information of other verified members. No PII (such as email addresses) is ever shared in this directory. 2. How We Use Your Information We use your information to: - Verify alumni status and manage access to restricted content - Maintain a directory of NR alumni for community-building purposes - Respond to inquiries or requests you submit 3. Data Sharing and Disclosure We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personally identifiable information (including email addresses) with any third parties. Period. Verified alumni may view certain non-PII information in our alumni directory, accessible only to other verified members. 4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Compliance) If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal information under the following legal bases: Your consent (e.g., when you register or provide your email) Our legitimate interest in maintaining an alumni network 5.
